Elfenstein is stunning black stallion with powerful elastic movement and the sweetest temperament one could hope for! He stands at 16.2 hands. Elfenstein was Premium Graded in Neumünster in October 2006. He was 70 day performance tested In Schliekau at the end of 2007 where he received the dream score of "10" for temperament. Elfenstein has outstanding conformation. His exceptional temperament ensures that he has a wonderful attitude to work. He has rhythmic elastic movement with a lot of power from behind, demonstrated by his superb uphill canter. Elfenstein was bred by Hans-Joachim Gross at the highly successful Erdmannshausen Stud in Germany. His sire is the Elite Stallion Hohenstein who has an incredible breeding and competition record. He became a premium stallion at the 1993 grading in Neumuenster. In 1994 he was Reserve Champion of his Performance Test with a total index of 134.05, winning the dressage section with an amazing index of 148.29. He has many graded sons including the Champion of the 1997 grading, Munchhausen, now a successful Grand Prix horse. Hohenstein was proclaimed Etite in 1999 and became Stallion of the year in 2002. Not only successful in the Trakehener breed, Hohenstein has been widely used as a refining stallion in the Hanoverian and Oldenburg breeds. His son, His Highness, became Champion of the Grading in Verden and was sold to the US for 515,000 Euros. Elfenstein comes from the very successful motherline of Etikette. His grandmother, Eberesche, is also the dam of Elysee who went on to produce two graded sons, Exclusiv and Extravagant. Eos, the successful international 3* event horse, her dam Ecliptic who was successful at CIC** level and the Advanced level show jumper, Eisdiamant all illustrate the versatility and quality of this mare family. Elfenstein has now commenced dressage training with International Grand Prix rider, Terhi Stegars. Not standing at stud in 2010. |
