A stunning black stallion with powerful elastic movement standing at 16.3 hands. Axis graded in Neumünster in October 2001. He was the champion of the free-jumping at the grading, and also showed three outstanding paces.

Axis is a large framed stylish stallion with wonderful type and outstanding conformation. His exceptional temperament ensures that he has a wonderful attitude to work. He has rhythmic elastic movement with a lot of power from behind, demonstrated by his superb uphill canter.

Axis was bred by Ewald Hartmann. His pedigree combines the jumping genes of Elite Stallion Sixtus and the dressage genes of Elite Stallion Angard the well respected stallion Herzbube. His sire Sixtus was an International Show Jumper and also sired the top competition stallions Buddenbrock, Kasparow, Lafayette and Peron Junior. The Arcona mare family originates from the Arcona motherline of the main stud Trakehnen, and grew at Gestüt Webelsgrund. Stallions from the same motherline include the champion Auftakt, Amarant, Arthus and Amadelio.

Axis completed an outstanding Class One 70 day stallion performance test in Neustadt-Dosse, Germany on October 3rd 2002. He was 5th out of 43 horses against strong competition from all Warmblood breeds. He was the highest scoring graded Trakehner stallion with an overall index of 122.95.

In November 2002 he was approved by the Hannoveraner Verband.

Axis had his first crop of foals in Germany in 2003, and his sons were 1st and 3rd in the Schleswig-Holstein Foal Championships!

His son, Hirtentanz, was Premium Graded in Neumunster in October 2005, where he was also proclaimed the best jumper....just as his father had before him! His first daughter presented for grading, Herzluna, also received premium marks.

In September 2006 his first daughter presented for grading in England, Fablixa, was also awarded premium marks.

In October 2006 his son, Ballzauber, was graded in Neumuenster. He was bought by the Olympic Event rider, Darren Chiacchia.

After spending one season in England, Axis returned to Germany where he is being trained by International dressage rider, Terhi Stegars. He has an outstanding attitude to work, is quick to learn and always very willing to please. He made his competition debut at Advanced Medium level in 2007 and progressed to "S" level in 2008.

At the International Trakehner Championships in Hannover, July 2008 he won both Advanced and the Prix St Georges competitions and made his debut at Intermediaire I level with a very respectable 71.33%.

During a very busy stud season in 2009 he managed to fit in several wins including 71.52% in the Inter I competition in Isernhagen.

At the International Trakehner Championships in Hannover, July 2009 he won Prix St Georges with 70.87% followed by his highest score so far......75.25% to win the Intermediaire I Kur.

Axis made his debut at Grand Prix in August 2009. At the Finnish National Championships he won the Grand Prix Kur with an outstanding 71.45%!!!
