September 2007 - The Tycoon daughter Godington Umbria is Champion of the Grading!  

December 2006 - Axis approved by the Oldenburg Verband!

We decided to present Axis to the Oldenburg Verband as we had received interest in him from Oldenburg breeders. We took him to Vechta in the pouring rain and were thrilled that he was approved. He is now approved to cover Trakehner, Hanoverian and Oldenburg mares!

October 2006 - Another Axis son approved!

The outstanding two year old colt, Ballzauber by Axis, was approved at Neumuenster. Comments from the grading commission: modern sport horse stallion with great lines and good frame on a correct foundation; will mature significantly; excellent jumper with good scope, technique and oversight, always motivated; moves with great ease and impulsion in all three paces. Great Trakehner breeding type. He was bought at the auction by top Olympic event rider Darren Chiacchia.

September 2006 - Another Trocadero daughter receives Premium marks!

Our beautiful young black mare, Bluewood Gloriana by Trocadero out of Pr.St. Grandiosa by E.H. Caprimond was awarded 54 points at the Trakehners UK Show at Addington. She will stay with us and go back for the Mare Performance Test next year.

September 2006 - Another Axis daughter receives Premium marks!

Axis has only had two daughters presented for grading so far, and both have received Premium marks. AT the Trakehners UK Show Fablixa by Axis out of Pr.St. Fabelhafte by E.H. Maizauber received 54 points. She is now owned by Nathalie and Dominique and will become one of their foundation mares in France.

September 2006 - Axis son and full-brother selected for Neumuenster!

Another Axis son and also a full brother have been selected for Neumuenster.

August 2006 - Axis at the World Equestrian Games in Aachen!

Axis looked magnificent in a display along with Muenchhausen, Monteverdi and King Arthur at the World Equestrian Games on Tuesday 22nd August.

May 2006 - Axis has first daughter with Premium marks!

The first Axis daughter to be presented for grading receives Premium marks! At the Schleswig Holstein mare grading Herzluna by Axis out of Herzchen's Letzte by E.H. Michelangelo receives 54.4 points with 8's for all three paces. Congratulations to Andrea von Zitzewitz!

May 2006 - Reserve Champion mare for Ivernel!

At the Schleswig Holstein mare grading the Reserve Champion with 57 points is Kreta II by Ivernel out of St.Pr.&Pr.St. Karissima by E.H. Charly Chaplin. Congratulations to Gestuet Tasdorf!

March 2006 - First foals arrive!

Hosanna produces an outstanding black filly by Axis. Feines Maedchen quickly follows with a stunning black colt by King Arthur!

February 2006 - Ivernel arrives at Bluewood Stud!

The amazing stallion, Ivernel, arrived at Bluewood Stud amid much excitement. Ivernel has an impeccable track record:

October 2005 - Axis son Hirtentanz is Premium Graded in Germany!

The outstanding son of Axis, Hritentanz, was Premium Graded in Neumuenster, Germany. He also received the trophy as the best free jumper at the grading, with many people saying that he was the best jumper they had ever seen at the Trakehner grading. This was a fantastic result for Axis from only his first crop of foals!

September 2005 - Bluewood horses excell at the Trakehners UK Show!

Blue Velvet is Reserve Supreme Champion and Mare Performance Test Champion with the outstanding score of 8.75! She was given 9.5 for rideability from guest rider Roland Tong and 9.5 for her paces under saddle!

Flora, who we sold to Donna Monaghan, becomes a Potential Premium Mare with 53 points at her grading! Flora is in foal to Tycoon and will be prepared for her performance test after the foal is weaned.

Holme Grove Goldika, who we sold to Jane Holt and prepared for grading, becomes a Potential Premium Mare with 53.5 points! Goldika is in foal to Trocadero.

Picador, who we sold to Julie Wilkin, wins both the Novice and Elementary qualifiers with the fantastic scores of 73.33% and 71.05% respectively!

Bluewood Valentino looked fabulous and was 2nd in the Yearling Class!

Bluewood Ulrika is Reserve Champion of the Mare Performance test with an excellent score of 7.95!

Bluewood India attains 50 points at her grading!

August 2005 - Blue Velvet arrives!
I have admired Blue Velvet since she was a foal....now at last she has joined the Bluewood herd! Blue Velvet was bred by Juray and Jane Paulicka in Germany and I visited her several times as she grew up. I saw her again this February and returned to see her under saddle in June and she looked fantastic...Jane and Juray have trained her in such a wonderful and kind way. She has three magnificent paces and although my first instinct is to breed her to Axis, I think that she has the potential to excel in competition before she has babies.

July 2005 - New Champion mare joins our herd!
St.Pr. & Pr.St. Feines Maedchen by Caprimond joins the Bluewood herd. She was Champion of her Grading in Germany and is in foal to King Arthur for 2006. We are so excited to have her!

July 2005 - Bluewood Herbstruhm qualifies for the Naional Championships!

April 2005 - DEFRA approval
DEFRA has approved Bluewood Stud for another year as an EU Equine Semen Collection Centre, which means we can continue to send our stallions semen to other EU countries. Our approval number is UK-9033-EC.

March 2005 - Bluewood Herbstruhm qualifies for the Regionals on his second Affiliated Dressage outing!
Bluewood Herbstruhm went to his first competition with his new rider Jane Mogridge on 2nd March and won the N21SR with 67.5% and was 3rd in the N32SRQ with 63.04%. On his next outing at Patchetts on 26th March he won the N25SRQ with 65.6%. Congratulations to Jane and also to his owner Carrie Hart!

October 2004 - Neumuenster 2004.....Tycoon daughters breed Champion and Reserve Champion stallions!
The standard of colts for the annual Trakehner grading in Neumuenster was very high this year and 17 graded in total. It is fantastic that our stallion Tycoon is the sire of the mothers of both the Champion and Reserve Champion Stallions. In the few years that he stood at stud in Germany he left many very high quality Premium graded daughters.

The Champion stallion, Le Rouge, was by Pret a Porter out of St.Pr.& Pr.St. Lantana by our stallion Tycoon. Lantana herself sold for 110,000 DM as a two year old in Neumuenster and was Champion Trakehner mare of Germany in 2000. Le Rouge sold for 160,000 Euros and will stand at Klosterhof Medingen next year.

The Reserve Champion stallion was C'est Bon by Distelzar out of Pr.St. Coonya vom Klosterhof by Tycoon! C'est Bon sold for 110,000 Euros by Sommerlade Stud.

September 2004 - Bluewood Ulrika becomes Premium aspirant
Bluewood Ulrika graded with 53 points and will obtain her Premium title when she completes a good performance test. She is having a much earned rest at the moment and will be brought back to work in the Spring in preparation for the Mare Performance Test next year.

July 2004 - Bluewood Herbstruhm 5th at the Royal Show
Bluewood Herbstruhm (aka Herbie) finished in 5th place at the Final of the SEIB/BEF Young Horse Evaluation Series (Dressage), only a week after his fourth birthday. Congratulations Carrie!

June 2004 - Bluewood Galileo wins with 72%

On his second outing the four year old Bluewood Galileo, better known as Gorgeous Boy, wins in Prelim dressage with 72% under his very talented owner and rider Joanna Kaye.

May 2004 - Bluewood Herbstruhm qualifies for the Young Horse Evaluation Series final
Under his rider, dressage diva Carrie Hart, one of our first crop of foals Bluewood Herbstruhm (aka Herbie) qualified at Addington for the Gala Final of the SEIB/BEF Young Horse Evaluation Series. This will be held at The Royal Show in July. He received the fifth highest overall score in the Dressage section. We are thrilled, especially as this was his very first competition!!

April 2004 - St.Pr.St. Mocca selected to join the Trakehner Verband GP Program
Our superb State Premium mare, Mocca has been selected to join the Trakehner Verband GP program and also invited to the Bundesstutenschau in Neustadt Dosse in July.

April 2004 - Pr. St. Herbstelfe selected to join the Trakehner Verband GP Program
Our wonderful Premium mare, Herbstelfe II has been selected to join the Trakehner Verband GP program, due to her past performance and selection for the Bundeschampionat as a four year old.

February 2004 - Bluewood Stud approved as an EU Semen Collection Centre
Now we can sen semen from our stallions throughout the EU - we already have several bookings!

November 2003 - New Stallion Stables arrive
We have taken delivery of our new Loddon boxes for the stallions. They are positioned close to the stallion paddocks, and the phantom mare too!

August 2003 - Poema is Reserve Champion of the Grading and Reserve Champion of the Performance test!
We only took one horse to the TBF SHow due to domestic problems, and wow, was I pleased I took Poema even though she had only been under saddle for six weeks!

June 2003 - Axis comes to live in England!
It was wonderful to see my superb black stallion walk off the lorry as he arrived in his new home, after spending a few months covering at the state stud in Neustadt-Dosse.

April 2003 - My first Trocadero foals are born!
After months of waiting, the first Troccie babies have arrived and they are amazing - very modern with long legs and lots of movement - and they all seem to have inherited his fabulous temperament. I adore them!

November 2002 - Axis is approved by Hannoveraner Verband!
It was with great excitement that we received the news that Axis had been approved by the Hannoveraner Verband and accepted into their studbook. Thank you so much to Gerard Geling who prepared him excellently for his performance test and presented him to the Hannoveraner Verband! Also thanks to Susanne Schilling for all her support and to Tehri Steggars for training him so well.

October 2002 - Axis completes an outstanding Stallion Performance Test!
Our youngest stallion Axis (Sixtus-Angard-Herzbube), completed a Class One 70 day stallion performance test in Neustadt-Dosse, Germany with a superb overall score of 122.95. He was the top scoring graded Trakehner Stallion finishing 5th out of 43 horses against strong opposition from all Warmblood breeds!

August 2002 - Hannah is Supreme Champion of the TBF Show 2002
Our beautiful mare by Honeur out of Halleluja by Habicht became Champion of the Grading at the 2002 TBF Show with 55 points! She went on to win the Mare Championship and the Supreme Chamionship.

Bluewood Uralia became the Champion Part-Bred Trakehner.
